nuclear snRNA gene snRNA:U6:96Ab

D. melanogaster RNA-encoding gene small nuclear RNA U6 at 96Ab , abbreviated as snRNA:U6:96Ab , is reported here . It has also been known in FlyBase as snRNA-b and snRNA:U6. It encodes a product with putative pre-mRNA splicing factor activity putatively involved in nuclear mRNA splicing via U2-type spliceosome which is putatively a component of the snRNP U6 . It has been sequenced . It has been mapped cytologically to 96A . There are 5 recorded alleles : 4 in vitro constructs (none available from the public stock centers) and 1 wild-type. snRNA:U6:96Ab is discussed in 27 references (excluding sequence accessions), dated between 1981 and 2003. These include at least one study of wild-type function and 3 molecular studies .
